Hi, I’m Shine! Welcome.

This website is designed for anyone with an appetite for foreign language and looking to learn Traditional Chinese.

Food words seemed like an easy gateway to learning how to read a foreign language, given its versatility.

Why I built this

Perhaps to clarify, as a Canadian foreigner of Hong Kong descent living in this special administrative region for 6+ years now, I designed and created this website with the goal of brushing up my language skills. My spoken Cantonese and Mandarin are adequate, but in order to reach another level of fluency, I believe that being able to write and read is important.

Growing up in Canada, I never learned how to read Chinese, despite being able to speak Cantonese.
